A Sly Sunday on the Senate Floor

A Sly Sunday on the Senate Floor

                             By Tammy - December 21, 2009

While most Americans have been Christmas shopping, and making plans for the holidays Democrats have been pushing towards new healthcare reform. Like a steam locomotive they have been charging towards the passing of the most important piece of legislation ever, healthcare reform. With corruption, bribery, and close door meetings they have gotten their 60 votes for the passing of this bill.

You can bet Pelosi and Reid are going to do whatever it takes to get the bill passed. Bribes, threats, favors and promises – everything seems fair game in this most unseemly health care war.  Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), using exceptionally heated language, called the health care bill on Sunday “seedy Chicago politics,” “backroom deals that amount to bribes,” “Enron accounting,” “the worst of Washington,” “phony,” and a “sham,”

The healthcare war took place over the weekend when on Saturday Harry Reids Manager’s Amendment was introduced. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) forced the clerk of the Senate to read the 383-page amendment aloud to the entire chamber. It took the whole day to read the amendment.  Senator Tom Coburn from Oklahoma along with other Republicans gave a press briefing on Saturday as well. Tom Coburn said “To claim there is a pro-life rider in this bill is absolutely ficticious.  Reid’s health care amendment can be seen here. http://www.politico.com/static/PPM145_chris.html

According to Coburn for the first time in U.S history federal tax dollars will be used to fund abortions. There’s no prohibition on abortion coverage in federally subsidized health care exchanges. The state opt out still requires each states tax dollars to pay for elected abortions. The new public option managed by the office of personal management and O.P.M will cover abortions. The managers amendment includes the reauthorization of the healthcare improvement act without the Hyde amendment language. The Manager’s amendment rejects compromise proposals on abortions.

In an effort to cook their books and show this health care bill is affordable, the government cut Medicare by shuffling the buffalo, and putting it over into Medicaid. Why? because previously medicare was paid by the federal and medicaid was paid by the states. So by shifting medicare over to medicaid they will mandate the states to pay for it…. So already struggling states who are going bankrupt will be mandated by the federal government to pay for all of it. Oh wait!!! Except Nebraska who got a sweet deal in repayment for their vote on the healthcare reform bill. They will not have to pay this

That’s when things really got heated. The last hold out Ben Nelson apparently has a price, and it’s 100 million dollars. 57% of Nebraskans are against this bill by the way. And…. after making a big deal about not supporting the bill because of the abortion language, he all of a sudden lost his principles when money was waved under his nose. Huckabee says the vote on health care reform is a pivotal moment in American history, and he took Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson to task for deciding to support the measure. Huckabee went so far as to compare Nelson to Judas in the biblical story of Jesus’ betrayal

The first vote passed in the wee hours of Monday morning, 1:00 a.m. to be exact. Their will be two more votes, and the bill is to pass the Senate before  Christmas. But…… it aint over yet because it has to go back to the house. Stupak is unhappy about the abortion language. Hopefully they wont be able to buy the House. If you have never made your voice heard before now is the time. Call, write, and bug your representatives, and if it all fails anyway we must vote them out. Tell them their jobs are at risk if they dont listen to we the people.  We need to send a loud and clear message. If they can use threats and fear as a tactic so can we.

Palin-Mania

                                          Nov.25, 2009

Some people love her, some people hate her, but most know her name. Sarah Palin became a household name when she entered the political frey in 2008. In her first political speech this relatively unknown Governor from the state of Alaska hit a homerun. In that speech when her teleprompter went down, working off the cuff she coined the phrase “Do you know the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull?” She said, ”Lipstick.” pointing at her mouth and smiling. That’s right her teleprompter went down. That phrase was Sarahs not a speechwriters. She is as sharp as a tack. Love her or hate her she relates to hardworking Americans everywhere. She has strong convictions/principles, she went against her party and the mainstream, cleaning up Alaska’s crooked government.

From the moment she opened her mouth she scared the left with her moral convictions, her straight talk, and the annointing from God with which she spoke. They went on a feeding frenzy at her expense. There was no stone left unturned, and the most they could find was a pregnant unwed daughter. Even after she lost in the 2008 elections the attacks continued. She proved her love and allegiance to the state of Alaska when she stepped down. She refused to be a lame duck, and waste Alaska’s time holding the office, but accomplishing nothing. Many have said she is not qualified. She’s just a small town girl, a moose hunter, and what’s worse she’s a Christian. From what I have seen though she has the three C’s, conviction, charisma, and courage. I’ll take that anyday over the Washington, elitist, “qualifications.” Where has that gotten us anyway? Just broke, busted, and disgusted.

Some people love her and some people hate her, but shes just Sarah. She just that small town girl that clings to her guns and her religion like the rest of us. I for one love her, and by the time Obama finishes destroying this country people will be begging for her in 2012. Iam ready to see some change we can all believe in. Not a change towards Socialism, but a change in the WhiteHouse. Iam tired of dirty politicians who can be bought like Mary Landrieu of Louisiana. Sarah may not be your polished, elitist politician, but I guarantee she wont be bought. I’m for change in 2012. A change we can all believe in.

Frankly, I think it’s time for one of us folks to be in charge. Iam tired of out of touch, polished, elitist politicians being in charge.

Is Obama Poised to Cede US Sovereignty?

October 30, 2009 Posted by tammy42 | America, Blogging, Climate change, Conservative issues, Life, Lord Christopher Monckton, Obama, Politics, Republican, climate debt, communists, conservative, constitution, democracy, enforcement, freedom, prosperity, speech, treaty, world government | | No Comments Yet

Dear Washington politician,

1. I believe in a balanced budget and therefore will vote for a freeze in government spending until that goal is realized.

2. I believe government should not increase the financial burden on its citizenry during difficult economic times therefore I will oppose all tax increases until our economy has rebounded.

3. I believe more than four decades of U.S. dependence on foreign oil is a travesty therefore I will support an energy plan that calls for immediately increasing usage of all domestic resources including nuclear energy, natural gas, and coal as necessary.

4. I believe in the sovereignty and security of our country and therefore will support measures to close our borders except for designated immigration points so we will know who is entering and why and I will vehemently oppose any measure giving another country, the United Nations, or any other entity, power over U.S. citizens.

5. I believe the United States of America is the greatest country on earth and therefore will not apologize for policies or actions which have served to free more and feed more people around the world than any other nation on the planet.

If your politician doesn’t believe, support or reflect these beliefs in their actions (not the little words they say), then they aren’t supporting you. More importantly, they aren’t supporting, protecting or defending the Constitution and it’s time to vote the bums out.

The Perfect Storm, Parental Rights Threatened

                       Tammy – August 25, 2009 – 9:51 a.m

”The Perfect Storm, Parental Rights    Threatened”

There is a storm on the horizon, and it is moving closer and closer. This storm seeks to strip parents of their parental rights, and give it into the hands of their children. It is stealthy and silent as it closes in thus making it the perfect storm. While most of us are busy fighting against cap and trade and healthcare reform our attention is being averted from this oncoming storm. Isn’t that the Obama way though? Ram it, slam it,  and sneak it hurriedly through before anyone realizes what happened. “It’s tranparency we can all believe in.” It’s the Obama way.

This storm is an international convention setting out the civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights of a child. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, also referred to as CRC or UNCRC, looks and sounds good on the surface. But… Is it really?

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is a nice idea, but this treaty like so many of our United States bills that come before Congress is loaded with a bunch of hooo dooo. One fly in the soup ruins the whole pot even if it was really yummy to start with. This Convention declares that children have basic rights, and who wouldn’t want that. Right? It seeks to protect children around the world from horrible atrocities. It sounds good, huh? It’s goal is to end child slavery, hunger, and prostitution. Yet, while ratifying this treaty sounds like a great idea to protect children it would instead give the UN inroads to dictate to American parents how best to raise their kids. It would also strip parents of their rights, and give them to their children.

”We need to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government’s purposes are beneficent. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding.” (Olmstead v. United States) Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis

pd_angry_teen_070622_mn  What if it was deemed unconstitutional to discipline and spank an out of control rebellious child? What if the government gave them all the rights? It would be like handing them a loaded gun, and we know that is a good idea, not.

Governments of countries that have ratified the Convention are required to report to, and appear before, the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child periodically. As of December 2008, 193 countries have ratified it, including every member of the United Nations except the United States and Somalia.

The Obama Administration is now pushing the United States to finally join the treaty, and there is no need for this. Yes, the protection of children should be our greatest priority, but in America we already have excellent laws in place to defend children. We dont need to ratify away our American rights to some foreign council that we must give account to. Listen to this.

What’s next? I ask myself that everyday. Everyday I await the next shoe to drop. We must be vigilant to stand and fight. We cannot allow our government to sign away our freedoms and rights at warp speed. For more information, and to sign the petition go to parental rights. org. A link has been provided.

Dont Eat the Cats!!

                                Tammy – August 23, 2009 -

                                            Dont Eat the Cats!!

It was the summer of 1918, and an unusually warm, humid day in Soviet Russia. The small Soviet run hospital was packed beyond capacity. Citizens from all walks of life crowded the tiny waiting room, many who had been waiting all day. Their ailments ranged from broken arms to cancer. The absence of soap and daily  cleaning supplies made the filth and odor unbearable. The stench, overcrowding, and buzzing flies swarming around open, oozing, festering sores was enough to make the wait miserable at best. Not only were they lacking in soap and disinfectants, but medicine and medical staff were in short supply as well.

Many died in the waiting room before getting any help. One man who had just had brain surgery died trying to get to a sink. A drunken orderly stumbled down the hospital corrider, and kicked one of the many stray cats who wandered the halls. He then turned to an elderly gentlemen and screamed, “Dont eat the cats! They’re my pets. It was chaos and disordered everywhere they looked, but it was all they had.

282168859_tp“Anesthesia was usually “not available” for abortions or minor ear, nose, throat, and skin surgeries. This was used as a means of extortion by unscrupulous medical bureaucrats.”

How could they have known what socialized medicine would be like? They were the first to implement it after all. It looked and sounded good. It was suppose to cut cost, and eliminate waste. They thought it would be the answer to all their problems. It would be their salvation. Instead of being their answer it was widespread corruption, appalling quality of service, and extensive loss of life.

”According to official Russian estimates, 78 percent of all AIDS victims in Russia contracted the virus through dirty needles or HIV-tainted blood in the state-run hospitals.”

Bribes taken by medical apparatchiks, criminal negligence, drunken ambulance crews and staff, and food poisoning in hospitals and child-care facilities were the norm in these filth infested hospitals. If you wanted  attention or anesthesia you had better be rich, and slip them some green. Because of this the poor died, and the rich got cared for. The very system meant to aid the poor actually did them a grave disservice.

Eventually a two tier system was set up. One for the “gray masses” and the other, with a completely different level of service, for the bureaucrats and their intellectual servants.

After seventy years of socialism, 57 percent of all Russian hospitals did not have running hot water, and 36 percent of hospitals located in rural areas of Russia did not have water or sewage at all. Isn’t it amazing that socialist government, while developing space exploration and sophisticated weapons, would completely ignore the basic human needs of its citizens?

The appalling quality of service is not simply characteristic of “barbarous” Russia and other Eastern European nations: it is a direct result of the government monopoly on healthcare and it can happen in any country. In “civilized” England, for example, the waiting list for surgeries is nearly 800,000 out of a population of 55 million. State-of-the-art equipment is nonexistent in most British hospitals. In England, only 10 percent of the healthcare spending is derived from private sources.

016Pic1_25

Age discrimination is inevitable in all government-run or heavily regulated systems of healthcare. In Russia, patients over 60 are considered worthless parasites and those over 70 are often denied even elementary forms of healthcare

In the United Kingdom, in the treatment of chronic kidney failure, those who are 55 years old are refused treatment at 35 percent of dialysis centers. Forty-five percent of 65-year-old patients at the centers are denied treatment, while patients 75 or older rarely receive any medical attention at these centers.

In Canada, the population is divided into three age groups in terms of their access to healthcare: those below 45, those 45–65, and those over 65. Needless to say, the first group, who could be called the “active taxpayers,” enjoys priority treatment.

Savings and cost cuts will only be achieved by denying care and squeezing providers. It will only be accomplished by making tough choices based on those deemed worthy of care. Who will make that decision?

0_21_450_complete_lives Is this what we have to look forward to? Is this Ezekiel Emanuel’s idea of a grand ol healthcare system?

How could Soviet Russia have known? They were the first. In America we will have no excuse because history has gone before us. To ignore history would be like shooting ourselves in the foot, and watching it bleed. How often has our government controlled things, and ruined it (cash for clunkers was a huge success ( not!), medicare, social security….)? To blindly stumble down that road would be suicide, and we will have no excuse. We will answer for our children’s future. We know the truth, they didn’t.

John Holdren, The Angel of Death?

                        Tammy – August 20, 2009 – 11:30 a.m

John Holdren, the Angel of Death?

Is John Holdren the Angel of Death, a crazed madman, or simply our Science Czar who is in control of all science policy for the United States? You be the judge.

This Czar answers solely to President Obama. His official title is Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Wow!! That’s a mouthful. Try saying that three times quickly.

His salary is unknown, hmm…… really? Why does that not surprise me? That’s transparency you can believe in.

John studied aerospace engineering and plasma physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology — where he earned his BS and MS — and Stanford University, where he received his doctorate in 1970.

ap_john_holdren_090409_mn

In 1977 Holdren co-authored a book with close colleagues Paul Ehrlich and Anne Ehrlich entitled Ecoscience: Population, Resource, and Environment. In this book our Science Czar wrote:

Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not;

  The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation’s drinking water or in food;

  Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;

People who “contribute to social deterioration” (i.e. undesirables) “can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility” — in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.

A transnational “Planetary Regime” should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans’ lives — using an armed international police force.

These things were written as a possible solution in the event of an apocalyptic crisis or maybe overpopulation. What kind of person would even consider these notions? Have a listen to this

On a little side note* I think I will write about our Communist Green Job’s Czar next. Omg, are we putting Communists in authority, and these nutballs answer only to Obama?

And.. if that were not enough to put John in the crazy tree with the babbling monkeys, he also has a great admiration for a man named Harrison Brown, a respected scientist from an earlier generation. Holdren has said on many occasions that it was Harrison’s book, The Challenge of a Man’s Future, that shaped and changed his personal philosophy. It also inspired him to set out on a career path in science and population policy. After reading this next excerpt you will see what a nut the man who shaped and changed John’s thinking was.

Here’s an excerpt from “The Challenge of a Man’s Future”-

“The feeble minded, the morons, the dull and backward, and the lower than average persons in our society are outbreeding the superior ones at the present time. Is there anything that can be done to prevent the long range degeneration of human stock? Unfortunately, at the present time there is little, other than to prevent breeding in persons who present glaring deficiencies clearly dangerous to society and which are known to be of a heriditary nature. Thus we could sterilize or in other ways discourage the mating of the feeble minded.

We could go further and systematically attempt to prune from society, by prohibiting them from breeding, persons suffering from serious inheritable forms of physical defects, such as congenital deafness, dumbness, blindness, or absence of limbs.

A broad Eugenics program would have to be formulated which would aid in the establishment of policies that would encourage able and healthy persons to have several offspring and discourage the unfit from breeding at excessive rates”

Harrison Brown, in the “Challenge of a Man’s Future”

256px-Harrison-brown

The guy pictured above is our Science Czars hero. His book shaped and changed John’s philosphy. Does he believe in this mess? Is he a eugenicist? Has he looked in the mirror? I dont mean to be cruel or rude, but in some minds he could be considered an undesirable. It depends on who’s looking. Who would be making the decisions of who can breed, and who is worthy of life? God forbid if John were to lose a limb, get diabetis, or some other incurable disease, like alzheimers. He would then be consider an undesirable and unworthy of life.

So…. Is he crazy? You be the judge.

The Fire-Fight for Freedom of Speech

                        Tammy – August 17, 2009 -9:31 p.m

The Fire-Fight for Freedom of Speech

The fight became nasty when an army of spies and snitches were called upoun to flag all misinformation of Obamacare. Many were enraged by this blatant disregard for our first amendment rights.  Make no mistake we  are in a fire-fight for free speech.

Now they are trying to stop talk radio by crushing them with taxes (100% of budget),then give that tax money to public radio stations.  Take a listen to this.

Are you kidding me, really? We have a new freedom of speech czar? What’s next? The left is hell bent on silencing any and all dissenting voices.

As if that was not enough, now there is an orchestrated campaign to shut Glenn Beck up. The fireball attacks are being organized by a black activist group, Color of Change. This group was co-founded  by Obama’s green jobs Czar, Van Jones.

van_jones_tim_porter

In recent weeks, Beck has done several critical segments about Van Jones. I guess someone is peeved. As a result of this organized effort about a dozen companies have withdrawn their commercials from Glenn Beck. A few of them are: SC Johnson, Petrell Ozbay, Progressive Insurance,Linda Harris, Advertising & Sponsorships,Geico, Chris Tasher, GEICO Media Relations.

According to World News Daily, Glenn Beck fans are not taking this lying down. They are fighting back. ”A husband and wife team of Beck fans has launched a website. This site lists the contact information for advertisers for Beck’s and other Fox News programs. It also provides  users with information and suggestions to contact those companies to urge their continued sponsorship. The site also asks users to contact Beck’s current patrons to thank them for their loyalty to the Fox News star’s program”  http://www.defendglenn.com/

Whether you like Glenn Beck or not this is about freedom of speech, and we are in a real battle. We need to take a stand against the fiery arrows being hurled at us. Today it is Glenn Beck, but tomorrow it may be you.
